"I Do!"

This week I realized how blessed I am. As the days get closer, I learn something new about myself, about us, and about our future. This was meant to be. This is it. Things are happening faster than I anticipated but just as I prayed and dreamed. Its going to be hard to remember that my name will now be, Mrs. Jarrett. BUTTTT if someone else or a child says it wrong, I'm sure I will be quick to correct them. Let's Go!!! Stay tuned to whats about to happen for the Jarretts!

Many won't admit it but, I stalk peoples timelines! If you post it for all to see... I prolly seen it twice. I mean how can I read half a status that is tagged with someone else, with a wink, wink.... To then not be the undercover detective I am, to try to figure out what your talking about! This leads me to my rant on that same chick that is always liking all your husband, fiance, boyfriend, or baby daddy's stats. Just cause you make your page private doesn't mean smart women like myself can't figure your thirstiness out. We are flattered. Glad someone other than ourselves and their mother's find them attractive. But when he puts up stats like, "my name has 8 letters" or "my fingers are attached to my hand" and you like every single stat including the random ones... The radar goes up. If yours isn't, it should. FACT: Girls start flocking when a guy is involved.  Don't get it twisted we know they have said something to gas you up.... It's possible its not even that serious. Just know, we watching! #Justwaterplease

SuperHalftimebowl!

Woo hoo! Madonna wins the superbowl! I was rooting for her the whole time! Though the yogurt commercial came close in the fourth quarter. All in all good game!

Let's be honest ladies. Your glad football season is over. Now you only have to fight for attention from Modern Warfare: Call of Duty. Sad face. You know what I'm talking about. My fiance is steps away from an intervention his self. Erks me! The majority of the women out there weren't really that into the game anyway. Hell, I only looked up when I heard him yelling at the screen, during commercials, and at halftime. Meanwhile I had to look involved. I took one for the team! I do however really know who won! Go Panthers!!!! lol! I joke, I joke... I kid, I kid! ha! It was theeeeeeeee........WATER PLEASE!!

RELAPSE....

So the first week of February is in the books! I celebrated my anniversary with a steak and lobster dinner prepared by the boo, and I partied like it was 1999 to help celebrate my new friends birthday . Shout out to Amy! Happy Birthday Girlie!

We all know with celebrations, adult celebrations, that alcoholic beverages are inevitable. My fiance bought a bottle of my favorite wine to go with the meal he had prepared for me. I was 32 days in with no alcohol...WAS! It was a bottle of Duplin. It taste like juice. And I drank that whole bottle of "juice" with my dinner. Boy was I feeling it. After the first glass too, but he kept pouring it. It was like a never ending glass. Then when it did end, I was dared to take a shot.... and well, I ain't no punk. I took it! Then I took my butt to sleep. After him of course... ;) What?!? We grown!

After an amazing night like that you would expect me to be smiling from ear to ear but.... NO BUENO! I felt like death! Headache, sluggish, tired.... I felt like I got hit by a car. Definately a feeling that I did not enjoy or want to experience again.

After that undesireable experience, it was then time for the birthday party.
Stretch limo, dinner, VIP in the club.... what do you know, DRINKS! I was not going to have a repeat of anniversary night. So a lemonade "Tini" was what I had with dinner. In a "tini" glass, with a "tini" bit of liquor. I had learned my lesson. So with all the Patron shots that came around, I passed them right on off to my other half. He wasn't gonna waste a drink. Last night my liver and my body thanked me. Your welcome body, your welcome! I have learned my lesson and its official.... you can have my drink. I'll just have water please!

Come on February!!!

FEBRUARY!!! The month for lovers or (Slores), African Americans, and snow lovers! Well looking at the 5 day forecast, I don't even see a trace of snow in the near future, but bring on February! February is a very busy and exciting month for me. HEYYYY, its also the last month of February that I will be Ms. Harrington! My anniversary is February 2nd, Valentine's Day is the 14th, and my birthday is February 16th!!! AND ITS A LEAP YEAR!!!! PARTY, PARTY, PARTY! Just water for me of course... As excited as I am about it coming, I'm also ready for it to go. Its a month full of Black History Programs that I am involved in organizing. However I will just look on the bright side. I have a wonderful man who loves me, I'm proud of my culture and love sharing it with others, and I've lived to see another birthday. To that....NAP TIME!!!

TRUE LIFE: One Born Every Minute

My new favorite show is, "One Born Every Minute!" My fiance would say the shows I watch, reflect  what I want. My show used to be "House Hunters"...then we moved into our house. Then I was watching all the bride shows. "Say yes to the Dress", "Bridezilla", and etc....and what do you know I got engaged!!! I still watch all those shose though. I'm not married yet. And now I'm watching "One Born Every Minute. On hulu at that, back to back to back! I told you I had the baby bug! This show beats A Baby Story, HANDS DOWN!!!! I feel the join and pain of all the women!

Sh!t Fiancés Say!

So lately, there have been a lot of viral videos like Sh!t Black Girls Say, Sh!t Broke People Say, and etc. I thought to myself while sitting with my other half, He is a comic you know, and I thought to myself, "We should make a video too1" It shall be entitled, "Sh!t Fiancés Say!" So now I sit down to think of things my occasional wacked out fiance says... That means stay tuned tonight for the video!

TRIGGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps only someone with a drinking problem would say that a shot of something calms their nerves. To that I would reply DON'T JUDGE ME!!! lol! Again I haven't had a alcoholic beverage in 19 days..oh wait 20 days now. Not even cough syrup and my nose is running as we speak. Damn NC weather. Lately my tolerance level for everyday BS has also gotten low! The following are a list of my current attitude triggers: 1. MONDAYS! Needs no explaination! 2. Repeating myself more than 2 times. One in itself should be enough! You want me to listen to you, listen to me also! 3. Arrogance for no reason. Everyone gets lucky. Your not any different. 4. Scattered shoes in places other than a closet. 5. Rack on racks on racks of dishes!! 6. People who only think of self. 7. The fact that I'm on my menstrual! Grrrrrr.... you know that could be the reason for my attitude! Doubt it! Currently that is 7 triggers. Tthat would be 7 shots needed, but I have self control! So, just water please!

The Pros and Cons of Naps

Naps are a "helluva" drug! **In my Rick James voice. Due to the fact that I am severly anemic, I am always tired. EXHAUSTED!!! The fact that I'm also menstrating too isn't helping either. So today, I took my "normal" afternoon power nap. Normal for me anyway. A good old 3 hour nap at that! So now I am just up and alert! I have some work I could be doing, and I probably will, but for now this whole blogging thing is like my therapy. I feel a little better. Some stuff is still irking me, but I'll get into that in my next post. I have another blog that I maintain for my spouse as well. You can tell what things I did, and what he attempted. lol! A Woman's Worth!

So the discussion at work is famous African American women and in general the importance of women. Let's just say it was like waiting for paint to dry to get a list of any African American women. "Famous" or not. It is sad that many people still see a womans roles as simply caregiver, cook, and maid. We can not raise our young women up to think that is all they are capable and expected to do in life. They can do any job a man can and probably better! If we can vote our first African American president into office then one day, a woman will be president too! The right qualified woman of course! Not just anyone! I'm not crazy! So when is comes to our famous African American women, stop thinking it just Beyonce and Mary J. Blige. I consider myself a Famous aka successful African American woman in a way. I've beat many statistics and stereotypes. I had no child in my teens(still have none, but presently working on that), I graduated from High

school, went to college, and now am in the profession that I always wanted! As a African American woman, I am famous! But please inform your children of all the ones that came before. As for me, just water please!

You see it!! In 6 months I will become Mrs. Karim Jarrett! Yeah, I know! Its been a long time coming, but its happening. The route here had lots of forks, a few bumps, and CRAZY potholes...but we made it! Together! We've repaved a few of the roads, but no matter what obstacles remain or will resurface, we still will work through them together. As it does get closer, I feel my stress level rising. This is a lifetime commitment you know! Not to mention I haven't had a drink in days! 19 days sober! Yea me! I'm not an alcoholic or anything, but I enjoys some "DRANKS"! There is alot going on at work, my fiance is a big kid (I wouldn't have him any other way), I have a Black History Program and other events to organize, and I'm planning a wedding! Best believe a drink is greatly needed, but for now... Just water please!
